Living Planet: The Web of Life on Earth

By David Attenborough

In Living Planet, you will learn about the urgent issues facing our planet such as climate change, pollution, and mass extinction of species amongst others. By the end of this book, it is difficult to say which is the more astonishing – the ingenuity with which individual species contrive, or the complexity of their interdependence on each other and on the habitations provided by our planet. And so, the book leaves one with a lingering curiosity of wanting to know more.

Only One Earth: Living for The Future

By Lloyd Timberlake

An amazing book that showcases global examples of people and communities who are learning to use the world’s resources without compromising them for future generations with examples from different parts of the world including Africa. The book presents the nomadic life in Kenya, food supply in a Peruvian shantytown and a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka who advises about tree planting and watersheds. Amidst climate change and environmental destruction, this book looks at the world through the eyes of the people who tend it. It helps us appreciate the earth’s resources with a deeper understanding for protection of these precious resources for the future.

Only One Earth: The Long Road via Rio to Sustainable Development

By Felix Dodds, Michael Strauss, with Maurice F. Strong

Only One Earth makes us see the road to sustainability via the Rio+20 Conference. It allows us to see how much has been achieved and how much remains to be done in combating Climate Change. It provides an essential background for those who want to understand the most crucial issues of our time.

I recommend this book for those who are interested in climate governance and ensuring that our policies are aligned with the current challenges.
